WETRIPER (“we”, “us”) operates wetriper.com, a free platform that connects travelers with local guides and with each other across Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you register as a guide, you can optionally add a company name, bio, languages, location, WhatsApp number, website, and social media links to your public profile.

When you post or join a trip, we collect trip details (destination, dates, activity, group size) and, where you choose to provide it, a WhatsApp number so other travelers or guides can reach you directly about that specific trip. When you book a tour, we collect your name, email, and optionally a WhatsApp number and a message to the guide.

We do not collect or store payment information of any kind — WETRIPER does not process payments. You arrange and pay for trips directly with your guide or travel companions.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the core features of WETRIPER: creating your account, displaying your public guide profile or trip listing, matching you with other travelers or guides, and sending transactional emails (for example, booking notifications or account verification) via our email service provider.

A WhatsApp number or other contact detail you add to a trip, join request, or booking is shared only with the specific people involved in that trip or booking — not published broadly or sold to anyone.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your personal data. We don’t use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies. We don’t process or store payment card details.

Public information

Guide profiles and published tours are public by design, so travelers can find and evaluate them — this includes your display name, bio, languages, and any social or contact links you choose to add. You can edit or remove this information from your dashboard at any time.

Cookies and local storage

We use standard WordPress login/session cookies so you can stay signed in, and a security cookie on the login page. Your dark/light mode preference is stored locally in your browser (not a cookie) and never leaves your device.

Third-party services

We use Gravatar for default profile images where a custom avatar isn’t set (see Gravatar’s own privacy policy at automattic.com/privacy), and Hostinger for website hosting and transactional email delivery.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. You can edit or delete your own trips, tours, and profile information at any time from your dashboard. To request a full export or deletion of your account data, email us at the address below.

Your rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through your account dashboard, or by contacting us directly.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
